    Problem with D100 using hi-iso

what ISO were you trying and what lens - roughly - I'll have a go at replicating it. Also - what firmware are you on - if it is not most recent you can send your camera back to Nikon and they will do it and a sensor clean up for free - this type of artefact is unusual - if it is a sensor defect...

    secondhand scope!!!Help!

Check the Leica Passport that should accompany the scope - you'll see how old it is and how many years of the original warranty remain (I'm not sure if the warranty is void after change of ownership - ask Leica) - if it has never been registered with Leica and the registration paperwork is there...

    Swarovski EL Bins 8 x 32/ 10x32

understand reasoning re hands - I have opted to Ultravid due to a thumb and index finger injury - Swaros I found a bother, and to be frank painful for my injured hand as it took sooooo long to focus [I'm sure someone knows how many turns from close to infinity...?] - the leicas are about 1.25...

    Macro lens for DSLR

I shoot a Nikon D100 and F100 (35mm) with a 105mm Nikkor Micro AF lens - superb results. The multiplying factor with the D100 is about x1.4. This does not seem to be much of a problem and I can switch easily over to the F100 if I cannot get what I want. I would recommend you try the lenses you...

    Urgent Ebay

I've bought several Nikon lenses and ancillary bits'n'pieces over the years. As many have said, decide what your reaswonable limit is, leave that as you max and do not be tempted to get in the excitement of last few hours. Words of caution with recenty ebay activity when I was looking at some...

    What price for used Televid?

get a note of the serisal number of the televid and also ask to see the leica passport (I think they do it with televids as well as binos). If the passport tallies with the seller and the serial number it should be ok - if either are dodgy then walk. unfortunately the leica warranty/passport...

    Best Way to power cp4500?

mundane advice and you probably know of it - but keep batteries, if possible, in a pocket where they will be warm - this time of year the temperatures can lead to rapid depletion - chilly hides and a camera mounted in a scope leads to cold batteries which deplete quite quickly - I shoot Nikon...

    UK and USA price differences

HM Customs and excise will charge 4% duty on binos. You then pay 17.5% VAtTand the typical shipping with insurance from USA is about $50. If the seller marks the package as 'gift' and of value less than £80 (current limit) then you will avoid the taxes - however, you will have problems with the...

    Leather Ultravids

I agonized over this one for a long time - style vs durability... I chickened out and went for durability. That said though - I looked at both together when browsing - difference in weight is slight. I have had the 10x42 BRs for a couple of weeks - they are surprisingly light and compact so I...
