Taxonomy
Sometimes regarded conspecific with Golden Whistler and formerly regarded conspecific with Louisiade Whistler.

- P. c. tabarensis: Tabar Island (Papua New Guinea)
- P. c. ottomeyeri: Lihir Islands (Bismarck Archipelago)
- P. c. goodsoni: Admiralty Islands (Bismarck Archipelago)
- P. c. citreogaster: New Hanover, New Britain and New Ireland Islands (Bismarck Archipelago)
- P. c. sexuvaria: Bismarck Archipelago (Mussau)

Behaviour
Feeds mainly on insects and spiders.
