Genus: Pachycephala
Description
This genus contains 33 species of Whistlers.
They have a large rounded head, leading to the old name Thickhead. Most species live in forests and are insectivorous. They also produce a loud, whistling song.
Taxonomy
Pachycephala is a genus in the Family Pachycephalidae.
The genera Rhagologus, Hylocitrea, Coracornis and Aleadryas are sometimes included in this genus.
The taxonomy of the Golden Whistler-complex is not yet solved. There may be some future splits resulting of further studies.
