Genus: Alopochen
Description
This genus contains only one species, the Egyptian Goose from Africa (and introduced elsewhere).
Gill and Donsker also place two extinct forms in this genus, Mauritius Sheldgoose (formerly on Mauritius Island) and Reunion Sheldgoose (formerly on Reunion Island).
Taxonomy
Alopochen is a monotypic genus in the family Anatidae.
