Genus: Manucodia
Description
Four species of Manucodes from New Guinea, the Moluccas and Australia.
Unlike most other Birds-of-paradise they are socially monogamous and sexually monomorphic (females and males look similar).
Their plumage is basically all black with degrees of bue and/or green iridescence.
They are quite large members of their family and are proportionally long-winged.
Taxonomy
Manucodia is a genus in the family Paradisaeidae.
They are most closely related to the Paradise-crow. Trumpet Manucode was recently moved to its own monotypic genus Phonygammus.
