Family: Pomatostomidae
Description
Pseudo-Babblers, Australasian or Australo-Papuan Babblers.
These are noisy, gregarious and mainly ground-feeding birds. Their plumage is mostly brownish, they have long tails and pointed, down-curved bills.
They occur in Australia and New Guinea.
Taxonomy
Pomatostomidae is a family in the Order Passeriformes.
Despite their name these birds are not closely related to the babblers of the Timaliidae.
