Genus: Pomatostomus
Description
The species in this genus are found in Australia and New Guinea.
These are noisy, gregarious and mainly ground-feeding birds. Their plumage is mostly brownish, they have long tails and pointed, down-curved bills.
Taxonomy
Pomatostomus is a genus in the Family Pomatostomidae.
Despite their names they don't belong to the babblers.
