Family: Sapayoidae
Description
This family contains only one genus with one species, the Sapayoa from South America.
Taxonomy
Sapayoidae is a family in the Order Passeriformes.
Traditionally, the Sapayoa has been placed within Manakins, using the name Broad-billed Manakin. Recent molecular results place it with the African and Asian Broadbills, Asities, and Pittas as the only New World Member of that assemblage1.
