Overview
The valley of Vinschgau is a very sunny area. E.g. Naturns with 315 sunny days is one of the most sunny areas in eastern Alps.
Nearby is the mountain range Texelgruppe with peaks over 3300 m. Access is e.g. from Partschins ( nearby is the highest waterfall of South Tirol, 98 m ) to hut Lodner Haus. The way is through nice canyon with different rivers.

Dieter's review
I saw never so much birds in an area over 1800 m in the Alps. e.g. Common Kestrel near Lodner Haus, Eurasian Crag-Martin, Northern House Martin, Spotted Nutcracker (8 on 1 day descent), White-winged Snowfinch, Black Redstart, Alpine Chough, Northern Wheatear
From peaks but also from the way to Lodner Haus the view is spectacular to the Alps and to the Dolomites.
The different kind of birds in alpine area is not so big. It is also possible walk around the mountain range on Meraner Hoehenweg.
Under 1100m are lots of lizards. On meadow areas near rocks on mountain Sonnenberg should be Rufous-tailed Rock Thrush ( number decrease ).
