Swaro 8x32 eyecup issues. (1 Viewer)

Talking to a birder (not on this forum) who has had eyecup issues with the right eyecup falling out. Currently on third replacement. Anyone else had a similar experience. Own the same binoculars and mine have presented no issues.

I have a pair of 8x32 ELs and have had no problems with the eyecups.
I imagine Swarovski would be happy to have the chance to investigate the problem and (hopefully) fix it

Never had any problems with eyecups falling out. Probably worth sending the binoculars to Swarovski for a check.

My EL 8x32s have no issue, but an EL 8.5x42 I tried for a while would come loose. I figured out that part of the issue was how snuggly the raingaurd fit, and my habit of removing it with a sort of twist motion, the right side being the second to come off. Your friend might try the nice winged eyecup attachments from swarovski, with the looser-fitting raingaurd that comes with it. I had no issues when I added them.

James: Interesting, what make and model ?

8.5 x 42….also had to send them in with casing peeling off, model is circa 2018. His dad has the same model and had the focus blow tiny ball bearings all over the interior of his car when he tried to lift the diopter.

There are many Zeiss eyecup issues also, and IMO more frequent than Swarovski. I am going on a limb and bet that those SFLs eyecups are the same as the HT or the SF with no improvement, hoping for one, but not too confident.

The conquests are crap but the HTs are great….8 years now with thousands of field hours and look and function as new. Not sure how this got turned to Zeiss 😂😂

Just wanted to make sure that folks know that all glass from the European three are known to have bad designs and equipment failures. I thought the Zeiss SF eyecups for one who does not wear glasses were of poor quality, but for those who wear glasses with them set flush they are not an issue. I also feel that the eyecups on Leica and Swarovski are superior as well as many from Nikon.
