Lesser black-backed gull? (1 Viewer)

Hi, I strongly suspect this gull of being a Lbb gull. Why - you can see that it is in the process of moulting and the coat is becoming dark, the flanks are heavily black-spotted. Anyway, everything is visible this time :) Second cycle? Poland, Podhale , today.

Thanks for the reliable interpretations as usual! I still attach excessive importance to the dark underwing coverts (Are dark upperparts , dark lesser coverts nothing unusual here)?

Hello,

yes agree with you Michal: can a 2cy "Caspian Gull" with such uniform dark axillaries, broad blackish tailband (nearly covering the entire tail, many 2cy Gulls in NE-Germany have a narrower, more "tailbandish" one)) and large, "heart-barred" shaped dark centers to the scapulars still classified as pure, or are this features of Herring Gull introgression?

Yes, every single one is within variation for Caspian Gull (thanks Lou!), and you know I havent experience from the core breeding range, so thanks for a more comments!

(yes, greater underwing coverts seems unbarred white with a dark end?)
