Vafieos Village, near Molivos
Records compiled by 2 visiting birders (via Thekla Koukourouvli!), on their last day on Lesvos 10/10/19 between 10:55 and 18:20 and from the village of VAFEIOS (near Molivos) reported the following:
2 Golden Eagles (Aquila chrysaetos), together!
3 Lesser Spotted Eagles (Clanga pomarina)
1 very large eagle, possibly White-tailed (Haliaetus albicilla)
1 Short-toed Eagle (Circaetus gallicus)
1 Osprey (Pandion haliaetus)
1 Red Kite (Milvus milvus)
2 Black Kite (M. migrans)
1 Common Buzzard ( Buteo buteo)
3 Long-legged Buzzard (B. rufinus)
9 buzzards (Buteo spp.)
6 Marsh Harriers (Circus aeroginosus)
1 Pallid Harrier (C. macrourus)- ringtail
1 poss. Hen Harrier (C. cyaneus)
10 Red-footed Falcons (Falco vespertinus)
3 Eleonora's Falcons (F. eleonorae)
2 Peregrine Falcons (F. peragrinus)
2 Hobbies (F. subbuteo)
5 Kestrels (F. tinnunculus)
1 large falcon (Falco sp.)
24 Sparrowhawks (Accipiter nisus)
6 Goshawks (Ac. gentilis)
