New to the sport of birdwatching, I have a nice telescope and starting wanting a pair of good binoculars. Purchased the Nikon 10x42SE and on my first outing behind the house I spotted a Lazuli Bunting and a Western Tananger. I had no idea that such beautiful birds were just up on the mountain behind the house. Very nice.

Welcome. Birding will definitely open your eyes to all the birds nearby. It wasn't until I started feeding that I saw brown-headed and white-breasted nuthatches, Carolina wrens, and house finches in my backyard.
