Pesky green manakins of central Peru (1 Viewer)

It's me again, with yet another batch from El Paujil (eastern Pasco, 400 masl)!
The undergrowth over there was hopping with manakins, though I never found a lek.

The two common species were White-crowned and Blue-crowned. Males were unmistakable, of course, but the females were usually quite recognizable as well, WC with the grayish head and red eyes and BC bright green above and quite yellow below (see photos 1 and 2 respectively, for reference).

Now, I never saw a male of another species, but I did see a bunch of manakins that looked different. I wonder if they're all green manakins, but since the species looks quite variable across its range, and I could find very few photos from Peru, which themselves are a bit different from the illustration in Birds of Peru, I turn once more to my favorite experts!

Many thanks in advance

T

P.S I tried to provide several angles for each bird, so the photos will be spread accross a couple comments, apologies for that.

Photos 3,4,5 are of the same bird

In the Ridgely and Tudor passerines book there is some possibly relevant text for Green Manakin:
*legs greyish
*olive below
*yellow central belly
*indistinct pale eye-ring
*larger and longer-tailed than females of various similar manakins that overlap (blue-crowned most similar)

I don't know if this helps you, but the bird in images 12, 13 does look longish tailed.

It looks like "Pesky" is the correct description of this id challenge. I am making an answer here in hope of someone else chiming in.

Yes, sorry I took one look and... ...ran. But I'm having difficulty reconciling birds 9 & 10 with the manakins I know. Green manakin supposedly has dark/grey legs and this clearly doesn't although it does seem to have an eye ring and [perhaps?] a pale eye.

I agree, that's the strangest one of the bunch. I thought it was a flycatcher before getting my binoculars on it!

For what it's worth, there are at least a couple of birds that are IDed as Green on Macaulay which have pinkish legs.

Any thoughts on the others? Or do you just so happen to know the world's foremost expert on green manakins, who might be willing to help?

You're my only hope THE_FERN Kenobi! 3:)

Yes, I saw those images but I wonder how reliable the ID is. Suggest Josh is the person you want...

From Ridgely and Tudor: female Blue-black M is similar but has dull orange legs.

I personally think you have more than one species in these photos
