Not Edinburgh of course, but I saw an Otter just over a week ago in the Tyne right in the centre of Newcastle, 50 m upstream of the High Level Bridge (here on google maps; here on street view) :t:

Otters here near where I live, during the night-time, come into the commercial marina and sit on the jetties consuming their catch. Its a place full of yachts, people, buildings, bars and shops. In the daytime, never would one believe it.
