explosion of greenfinches this year (1 Viewer)

Hi guys,
I've been feeding the birds for years and have always done pretty well for variety and numbers despite my suburban location. Regulars are chaffinch, house sparrow, blackbird, robin, goldfinch etc
But this year the numbers seem to have gone through the roof, at least in past few weeks especially the number of greenfinches, regularly numbering 20 at one time!
I just wondered if this has been a very good year for greenfinches in Scotland or if there's some other explanation?
Thanks for any thoughts.
Les

Thats good news les, the greenfinch numbers down here have been drastically smaller in recent times, to what They were before due to a virus, which was recorded in europe, and now here I only heard that news on bird forum this year, you can never take things for granted in life especially in the natural world, what may be doing Well one day a year or two later may not be doing well, thou its hard to Imagine some things changeing, but it Pays to have a open mind if you can.
