Will a 9mm Plossl work on PF-65ED II? (1 Viewer)

I have an 8mm BST Explorer that I do not like on my scope. Just doesn't go well with this scope. Would a 9mm Plossl work OK on this scope? I know the eye relief would be kind of bad but I want a little more magnification tha my XW14. Found someone who might want to trade the 8mm for the 9mm Plossl.

Thanks

What don't you like about the Explorer? Are you sure the problem is the eyepiece and not the scope optics? Have you tried other 8mm eyepieces with better success?

Good point Henru Link, I have not tried any other 8mm eyepieces. The current one I have I can never focus of get a sharp image. I know 8mm is probably pushing it for this scope but I thought it would be better. I am actually on my second PF-65E II as my first one was damaged and Pentax replaced it.

I have the Pentax 65 EDII which I use the XW14 on most of the time, however when I want more reach I use a 10mm Baader Hyperion to give me 39x. It has no problems focusing but is not quite as bright as the XW14.

This sounds more like a problem with the scope optics. Unfortunately there is a lot of sample variation among spotting scope units, even the expensive ones.
