Black-headed or Brown-head gull (1 Viewer)

not so sure with this one. iris could still be dark since it seems to be a 1st summer bird - note traces of dark in tail. first gen. primaries all dark (without mirror). and bill looks substantial enough for brown-headed. but i'm not sure in this one. if it was flying there would be no doubt.

I think it's a Brown-headed personally, which is the standard gull in the gulf.

Looking again I perhaps rushed judgement a bit on this one. It looks bulkier and larger-billed than I first thought. I'm not entirely sure of ID, but Brwn-headed does seem like a good option.
