gitzo mountaineer problems (1 Viewer)

hello, i have heard several times that there where problems that the legs and other things that came loose on the carbon tripod, is thsi still the case or is this a problem in the past i would like to buy a 2541 tripod .

I have a GT2942L (basalt) and have had no problems. The anti-leg-rotation-system is excellent and allows you lock or unlock all leg sections in the collapsed state with a single twist. As with any tripod you should, of course, make sure the lower leg sections are free of dirt before collapsing them.
I am tall and use a straight scope so there was no alternative in the Gitzo programme to a 4-section tripod. However, if you do not need the height or the short collapsed length of the 2541, I strongly recommend that you consider the 2531.
The very thin bottom leg sections have a negative effect on rigidity (a 20 mm tube is nearly twice as rigid as a 16 mm tube of the same wall thickness).
