I have just bought this lightweight fluid head; only put it through some use today with Svaro 80mm scope and the 1DII and 300 2.8; with just the scope there seemed to be beautiful smooth horizontal panning but fine vertical movements were slightly jerky? this seemed odd and I wondered if I have got a duff model; with the much heavier camera and lens it seemed a lot smoother in vertical panning so is it weight dependent?
I have yet to master the counter-balance system but I doubt if this would affect the panning;

Does anyone else own this head and what are their thoughts on vertical panning; there seem to be no reviews on the net just the usual blurb from the makers.
