    Another busy parent

These guys built a nest in one of my wife's decorative bird houses sitting on a shelf under the shed. After they fledged I checked the bird house and they had cleaned every piece of nesting material out. Guess they just want to leave things how they found them.
  6. Busy Parent

    Busy Parent

I kept watching Chickadees going and coming from Jane's gardening work area. She has a couple of decorative bird houses that have been there for years. Yep this year the Chickadees saw fit to make it a home.

    Blurred bird

Rainy weather, dark skies, poor light conditions, a slow camera, a fast chickadee. It all adds up to a blurred bird.
  14. Cute bit of fluff

    Cute bit of fluff

This chickadee was fluffed up against the cold on this dull and damp day. Awful cute.

    Shelter from the storm

Not a great photo, but sort of shows the situation here today. We're getting hit with the remains of hurricane Patricia. (Who would think parts of a hurricane from the pacific ocean off Mexico would make it all the way to eastern Canada?) We're getting high winds and tons of rain, it's 12:22 PM...
  19. Chickadee

    Here ya go baby!

The hand off. A bedraggled mamma chickadee stuffing the beak of one of its youngsters. Unfortunately it got very dark and rainy by the time I caught this, so the photo quality sucks, but it's a nice moment.

    Sat fun:Getting The Message Through

Over the years we've had several bird collisions with our large living room window. In order to try to stop this, we've placed many stickers on the windows, and I installed a large sheet of window screen material in front of it. For the most part this has worked. It has also become a handy place...
  24. Chickadee

    Chickadee

Robins nesting with eggs and we get a 10" snow. It melted within a day so nice to see most birds surviving.
