    Then we tiptoe quietly away

Well, I did tell you that frame 3 was the best one, but we do have to get to the end of the story ;)
  3. Just pretend not to notice her

Just pretend not to notice her

Glad you're finding these images cute and the captions entertaining |=)| Just to warn you, this series ends on a bit of an anti-climax. Frame 3 is the best of the set, but the story ends on frame 4, which will have to wait a few more hours so I don't go over 3 in 24.
  4. No! Don't look!

    No! Don't look!

Sorry. Can't help giving little "talk bubble" captions to these two. The series just seems to demand them. To be continued tomorrow.
  5. Pssst. See that old lady over there?

Pssst. See that old lady over there?

Spotted these two characters sipping from a puddle on the street just outside my physical therapist's gym as I was leaving. Guessing from who was flying low overhead calling out warnings, these are common gull chicks. I have a series of four of their "conversation". I'll post them in...

Bad Hair Day for Purple Swamphen Chick

We all have our "off days"; some of us more than others. But I suspect this guy would have quite a few until it fledged; and with those goofy feet... well....
  8. Oi dad........

    Oi dad........

Looks like this dad had an it that needed scratching and in the process turned himself in to a water slide for the 4 chicks

Comparing stilt and avocet chicks pastel drawing

I am new to birdlife and fledgling bird artist, and have a wonderful park called Shollenberger nearby where these two species are nesting, the chicks are in different places, I wanted to see how they compared, hope you can tell the difference.

  12. Camouflaged Lapwing

    Camouflaged Lapwing

One of my favourite from my Lapwing Survey in Ebbw Vale. I almost trod on this little fella who is only a few days old. If you look at it from a distance you can hardly make it out! Hope its not against upload policy......it was nowhere near the nest! Gary
  13. grebe with chicks

    grebe with chicks

Gliding through the waters all the time. The male was fishing around her.
