    Ever hopeful?

No sooner had I sat down to give my back a rest an Australian Raven landed on the rail. Guess he was hoping for some food LOL. He was out of luck though, as it was all in the car!!!! Trouble is, he really does have a bit of an evil eye, doesn't he?

On the large size for a white-eye!

An Australian Raven came down to the water trough as well. I zoomed in but haven't cropped this image at all. Tomorrow I'll show you a view of the feeders from the hide, giving an idea of the reach of this camera's zoom lens.

    Jay Walkers..... guess not!

We eventually came out onto the main road that ran up the other side of the mountains from where we were staying.... rather a rough track all the way, so maybe a long road for a short-cut comes to mind LOL. Rounding a series of bends we came across a group of Australian Raven, with a couple of...

  13. Balancing

    Balancing

I feel this Australian Raven looks rather more benign than in some poses. They were rather regular visitors to the dam while we were there.
  14. A large white eye

    A large white eye

Three Australian Ravens flew in for, guess what, a drink LOL. (did I tell you it was hot?) This is one of them. I love the eye!
  15. Off he goes

    Off he goes

A group of three Australian Ravens popped in for a drink as well, my first sighting of them. They didn't stay long, this is one of them flying off.

    What have you got

On the other side of the road to where we'd parked beside the lake were two Australian Ravens. Have zoomed in, and blown up the picture, I still can't work out what they've got there to so interest them LOL
  19. Big and black and shiny

    Big and black and shiny

The path went in a bit so we couldn't actually see the water for a couple of minutes, but there at the side of the path was a rather lovely looking Australian Raven.
  20. Cross

    Cross

I think this Raven was a bit upset that we didn't have any snacks for him LOL. He put on his best display for us too, but we remained hard-hearted!! We had a good view there, didn't we!
  21. They have hackles

    They have hackles

The last bird picture from that remarkable session at Gluepot. A rather handsome white-eyed Australian Raven. And he's got a fine set of throat hackles, hasn't he LOL. Now Luis said it looked very dry there. Indeed it was there'd been a long, long drought. Peter told me that Gluepot got the...
  22. Feeding frenzy

    Feeding frenzy

We'd now made our way across to the metaled road on the other side of the mountains. Sadly there were a number of road kills on the road, all attracting scavengers. This group consisted mostly of Australian Ravens and a single Wedge-tailed Eagle. Picture quality isn't great, as I took it...
  23. Bossy Boots

    Bossy Boots

Well that's how his pose struck me LOL. An Australian Raven came by to see us safely off on our drive round the Ranges.
  24. Evil eye?

    Evil eye?

LOL do you think that eye looks evil or quite benign? Most times we visited the Back Dam there were three or sometimes four Australian Ravens there. These three look like quite a tight knit group, don't they.
  25. Black with a touch of white

Black with a touch of white

The three Ravens came back too, and I managed to get this one in flight as they left. Quite pleased that I'm able to see his white eye up there!!
