The walk from parking down to Leangen Bay goes through some deep woods beside a stream. Since I knew the tide was waaaay out, I took my time on the walk down, trying for blue tits and pied flycatchers - got recognizable shots but no good ones. Best I got was when I was distracted by this red...

We had a nice run this afternoon and went to Balgavies (have I told you that's pronounced BalgI?) It's a couple of years since I've been there and found that the entrance track has been moved so it's so much safer getting in and out now. I knew there were feeders outside the hide from...

    Oooh... so much choice

AAP I was hoping to show you a picture from the Bash, but they need a bit of work and I'm extremely tired, so thought I'd bore you with another Red Squirrel picture!:-O Those who asked - yes, they're doing fairly well up here still. Where I am I rarely ever see a grey one, though I know they...

    The big stretch

AAP The Red Squirrels love the feeders in the forest too. I found it really difficult to get sharp pictures of them though, whether it was because they were constantly on the move, or the camera failing to lock on due to all the fluffy fur, I don't know. Maybe we'll get there tomorrow on the...

I was standing quietly watching some prime Loch Garten forest for Cresties when this Red Squirrel appeared on the side of the tree in front - I wasn't sure whether I'd get a shot but despite ISO 1000 and being about six feet apart this one turned out OK. I thought I'd enter a non bird photo too!
