I was standing beside the butterfly bush and just to my right about 2 feet was this beauty. This is a slight crop across the top to eliminate a straight line from a fence.

A visit to Strumpshaw Fen paid off with sightings of 4 Swallowtail butterflies - not counting one that had flown into the RSPB's office and was fluttering in the window! This one is nectaring on Sweet William flowers.
