Thanks for the link! There is also a very interesting article on "how many bird species are there in Brazil", which discusses the potential for the discovery of additional new species. It's in Portuguese, but for those who can read Spanish or Italian it should be understandable.

Thanks for the links and information - do you know if the new Scytalopus will come into the standard "Mouse-coloured" song from SE Brazil? The paper suggest its song is very similar to the SE birds (now 2+spp), although the calls differ.

I'll be at Chapada Diamantina in about a month so any additional information on good locations for it (or indeed the new antwren) would be most welcome.
