Algarve Redstart (1 Viewer)

Taken at Boca do Rio, in the western Algarve in Portugal yesterday. Slightly confused by this - looks like a female Black Redstart, but am a bit surprised by the amount of white in the wing, and underneath. So is it a pale, maybe young, male? Or is this within range for a female? Or is it something else?

Hello,

you can trust your identification from the field (regular the best advice).
Its a Black Redstart. They sometimes have a paler , yet cold coal-grey belly. And this is enhanced by light, and pictures from the back enhance this=are bad to judge this.

For difficult ageing and sexing better wait for others and thanks to Grahame Walbridge again!
