Animals skinned alive (4 Viewers)

I'm not sure if this is in the right forum or even if I should be putting this on Birdforum at all but this subject has been put on another forum and has sparked off a flurry of action over a video that was linked to it.

The link goes to the Animal saviors site but I have to warn anyone looking at this video (link further down the post) that it is very graffic and brutal but it is necessary for you to watch it so you can see for yourself why we need to do something about it. You don't need to watch it all to get a sense of the brutality that is dealt out to these defenceless animals.

I thought I had a strong stomach and could stand most things in life but I ended up in a flood of tears after watching part of this. I had to turn it off after the Dog as it was really getting to me.

I have certainly signed the petition and I urge everyone else to also. Following is the link.
http://www.animalsaviors.org/index.html

I have written to my MP and am about to start flooding as many papers with e-mails that I can. I know of dozens of people on another forum that are doing the same.

With the might of BF's membership, together with the contacts some of you have worldwide, surely we could make some impact. If not in China then at least to stop the resulting Fur being imported into various countries. If there is no market for these goods then the skinning alive of these animals should decrease dramatically and hopefully in the end will stop.

Please get involved and band together as one. BF has a mighty voice if used properly. Try getting in touch with your MP's in the UK, plus local papers or any other contacts you have worldwide that you think might help in creating an impact on this vile trade.

Thanks for reading this and I hope it has the same impact on you that it has had on me.

Hi John

I have signed the Pledge

I only could watch a minute of the video and felt really disheartened by the cruelty attached.

So barbaric if you ask me :-C:C

Thanks Paul & Kathy for signing the petition.

That is only the start. If you or anybody you know is in a position to get this aired better (papers, MP's etc) then try and get them involved.

John

John,

Have signed the pledge. The video is almost unreal - how can we inflict that amount of suffering in this day and age? Very sad...

Thanks for bringing it to members attention

Signed the petition John - on behalf of both of us. Daren't watch the video I'm afraid - the text is upsetting enough. My mascara is running already!

Thanks guys and gals

I know this will go against the grain but those of you that can't bring yourself to watch it I urge you to do so. You don't have to watch it all but once you have seen how bad it is it might bring out some action from you.

I know it did me. I e-mailed my MP straight away and at the weekend I will be looking for as many links to Newspapers, TV & Radio where I can post the same e-mail to them.

Sometimes you have to do something that hurts. Viewing this video will hurt but the benefits from doing that is that maybe it might spur you on to try and help eradicate it by getting in touch with as many people and organisations as possible.

Why!

Hi,
Remember we get most of our cheap goods from China!(in Canada)!
Would that barbarity work in a democratically driven government!
Yes!One snippet in our UNCENSORED media of this! It would it not end! NO in Canada they club baby seals.Just as barbaric,
but it always comes down to jobs, food on the table, votes!
Solve these problems and you will not see any of this!
ECONOMICS!

Darrell!

Couldn't bring myself to watch the film but I've signed. But I do wonder if all these 'on-line petitions' have any effect.

Not with a communist country!Where people have no say!But with a
quasi com/free market society ,do not buy anything China, that might
work, only if many other countrys protest! Sign a petition directed at your own government
to ban all this sort of stuff! Votes!See what happens!

Darrell

Atrocious ,and all the words that encompass it !
If I see somebody doing that ________________
What are my options ,no petitions?
As a male of the species or the female that is buying that
________________ fur ,I seen that video!

I have to say that I am more than disappointed by the response on BF. 160 views and 13 replies (3 from me & 3 from borealowl47) whereas in a far, far smaller forum there have been almost 2000 views and nearly 200 replies.

I would have thought the BF members would have jumped at doing something about it but perhaps not. I hope it's just that you all missed the post in the first place. If it is I urge you to watch this video (although I have to repeat that it is both graffic & brutal).

By watching it I almost guarantee that it will make you angry enough to want to do something about this vile trade.

hi John

Hope that you do not mind John, but moving slightly away from the petition, and adding my tuppence worth here. ;)

I was watching an article on TV the other day, and it looks although real fur is making a comeback big time even to this day. :-C

It does not help that some famous celebs are encouraging the trade to go on. They have more money than sense. :C
I think that people who want to wear fur items have no heart at all. They have no conscience either. :-C
Personally the skin is better on the animal, and that is the way it should be. :C

My former mother in law should to wear real fur, and I cringed when I saw all of her fancy furry outfits - but kept my thoughts to myself. She bought the furs long before they where considered illegal. :-C

I wish the fake fur industry would be encouraged to sell more fake furs in the manner that it does, and for more profit now. :t:

It would help all issues with hurting innocent animals.

Hi,

I just wanted to say that I have also posted about this issue on our forum of http://www.iberianatureforum.com/index.php?topic=2111

@reader Please dont' be disappointed... If you had not have posted here I would not have seen it... Word spreads across the internet and slowly we (everybody that cares) may make a difference). Are you not able to get the bird forum mods to get this topic stickied or promoted across all boards? Maybe if you asked they would.

Clive

I signed it from the other place, perhaps a lot more have, that might go some way to explaining the disparity.
I'm off to post the link in some other forums I use, if we all do that then eventually it will spread worldwide and maybe, just maybe, a boycott might work.

Thanks a million for that Clive. That is the sort of response I was looking for, the word spreading across the world.

It would be great of this was made a sticky but I fear it won't be. It's hard to grasp but a lot of people would rather brush this under the carpet and treat it as though it doesn't happen. Well folks, it does happen and we are letting it if we don't get involved, don't do something about it, closing our mind to it.

There's only so much one person can achieve (I'm speaking metaphorically now) but if all of the active BF members signed this petition then linked the story to their contacts and friends it would start to create that domino effect and soon some action may start to follow.

BTW Clive, I noticed with your post in the other forum that you watched the video all the way through. You are a braver man than me as i got to the dog where they were tredding all over its head and that was me gone and down in a flood of tears. I'm not ashamed to say that really upset me in a way I haven't felt before.

John

Thanks Mick. That is all anyone can ask and that is to spread the story as far and wide as we can.
