Anyone for Dark Chestnut? (1 Viewer)

Andrew S

Kentish Mother
Here are a couple of possibles for Dark Chestnut photographed recently. Trapping (Heath trap) in some mixed woodland on top of the North Downs last night Chestnut was the commonest moth with 7 - all well marked like the third photo here - the moth in the 2nd photo stood out.

1st photo was in the garden, the night before.

Any views appreciated.

Andrew

I hate this species pair but I would say Chestnut on all three. I need a bit of an "S" curve to the trailing edge to a definite point before I start considering Dark Chestnut.

All the best
