Years ago, my Sister Jenny and I were walking one day. She said something like: Oh, I hear a "so and so".
The little bird was up in the top of a yellow poplar tree. Jenny repeated it's sound. Chirp. . . Chirp.. . Chirppety. . . Chirp. (I probably have that spelled wrong)
I can't say the bird is rare, but they are not that common here either. I'm a little bit east of the Alleghany Mountains in West Virginia.
I heard one the other week, I have an idea what it is, but I'm not sure. I didn't get to see it.
If you can help me out with it's ID, I sure would appreciate the info.
