Bird ID from Panama - rainforest canal area (1 Viewer)

Need help to ID this bird. June 2nd at the Gamboa hotel in the rainforest near the Panama Canal.

It looks like a young mockingbird. Without checking further I can't remember whether you find Tropical or Northern in Panama but someone will surely know.
 
Tropical is the only Mocker in Panama, as it turns out.

Geography aside, this bird lacks the pale primary bases (which show even when the wing is folded) of Northern.

(Wouldn't know about the other species.)
