observed for about 15mins on 18.04.15, no call or song flitting around the bushes. legs seem light for a chiffchaff?

i wouldn't say the legs were particularly pale in this instance, and perhaps an artifact of the light? did you think the legs were pale in the field? primary projection is good for chiffchaff

Hi.Yeah the legs did seem lighter.I guess there are variations within all species, the colour on the wings seemed brighter than I'm used to for chiffchaff.still a relative novice so thought I'd check with the knowledgeable folk on here :)

there is some variation in leg colour and brightness of the plumage too, but primary projection will always separate chiffchaff from willow warbler (chiffchaff having much shorter wings)
