Clearly, a difficult ID. Because of the draw between Yellow and Cinnamon on here, I contacted one of the authors of Lynx‘ Birds of Thailand who IDed it as a juvenile Yellow Bittern.

Looks more like Cinnamon to me, pattern on the coverts is surely too uniform to be Yellow?

And beak is too short and thick for Yellow imo.
