Blackburnian Warbler, Geosetter, Mainland Shetland 26 September 2023 (2 Viewers)

Second day on Shetland this year and the pager's mega siren blasting out seemingly every half hour: finally it was our turn to "fire up the quattro" as news broke of a Blackburnian Warbler in willows at the top of the burn at Geosetter, part way down Mainland below Lerwick.

Fortunately although we had a long and anxious wait with no sightings the bird showed well when relocated with a thermal imager. I photographed it after it had bathed in the burn.
