Hi all,
I was up on the moors in the peak district the other day and kept coming across oddly large bird footprints in the peat bogs. In my infinite wisdom I didn't photograph them but I've attatched a rough estimate of what they looked like. Saw grouse and pipits but the footprints were much to big for them. Any suggestions as to what could have made them appreciated.

Fascinating - until you mentioned this I thought curlews were purely coastal birds, i had no idea they were resident in uplands too. Footprint looks a good match as well - thanks.
