wheres the best place to see dippers in the durham city area...used to see a lot about 30 yards upstream from the rose tree pub in shincliffe...havent seen any lately in that area.
 
If you keep going along the river past Shincliffe Hall then round the bend, there's usually one which oyu can see from the public footpath which leads up into Butterby Woods.
 
cheers andy is that the path through the field with dykes on your left hand side then you come into the wood.
