going through my photos from last weeks trip to Santo Antao, View attachment 1560037 I realise I'm not sure about this one. Is it a wandering Glider Pantala flavescens ?

Thanks. That's what I had originally labelled it as but reviewing the pictures I thought the pattern under the abdomen and the pterostigmata were wrong. However glad to have a better informed id. That and wandering glider were my two most wanted odonata and I saw plenty of the latter at Mindelo water treatment works but almost always in flight

I think wandering glider should have red pterostigma Looks ok for female v dropwing
