Duck id Essex UK (1 Viewer)

Saw this small duck today on marshland in Essex. It was alone and constantly dabbling. One photo also shows redshank for size comparison. Any ideas on id would be greatley appreciated.

Yes, a male Ringed Teal. Presumably an escape, they are a reasonably common one but I don't think they have ever established a breeding population.
