A final shot of the Bee eater from this morning

The bee-eater had strayed from its usual house first thing this morning but returned there mid morning as it warmed up, and insects started to show.
The shot below was cropped to remove the tv ariel.

It did fly off from Seaburn late morning with some determination. I thought it must be moving to another feeding area even though it had been catching a few wasps and a couple of bees. It flew off around 11.00am. I left 20 minutes later. I don't think it had returned by at least mid-afternoon.

I wouldn't care but I even headed up to Whitburn after leaving Seaburn and went to the south car park and cliffs but not to the hide! I must be getting psychic in my old age 3:)

Not a great deal about today at South Shields pier area.
Couple of shags, cormorant, 1/2 dozen sanderling, rock pipit, pied wagtail and a few gulls.
The thrush is from Saxon Way, Jarrow, still no sign of the waxwing there.
