Fuji S5200 IN LOWER LIGHT CONDITIONS (1 Viewer)

Tapachula, Mexico

Any advice on how the S5200 / 5600 performs in lower light conditions?

I have seen some excellent images of birds with this cameras but not sure how they would perform in lower light at 380mm or over 500mm (with tele converter).
I will be taking photoes mainly in good light but depending on the otters some photoes may be taken at at late dawn, early dusk and in the shade.

I am prepared to use a tripod

Other possible cameras Canon S3 IS OR NEW SONY DSC H2 AND H3 cameras (OUT IN MAY)

Any advice welcome!

cheers julian

Hi i have Fuji S5600 which I think is the same camera as S5200. We have had very grey dull overcast days here just recently, however, the camera seems to produce some very good shots. I also have the Tcon 17 1.7 teleconverter which seems to be used all the time now.Even with the converter on the picture quality is good. Changing the iso to 200 or above, changing the white balance to shade all seem to produce a better picture in low light.

thanks for advice

Thanks for your help.

I am on verge of buying the fuji. It seems to produce some excellent images.
Have you used the video mode? Good videos?

go to Steve's Digicams - find the S5200 and check out the sample video this Camera takes - absolutely amazing quality for the price of the camera .
