Started looking for a help site for birds of Cuba - we were there last week - and saw what I believe to be an emerald hummingbird - with long forked tail...any verification would be appreciated - there doesn't appear to be many bird sites devoted to the birds of Cuba...
Here at home I'm watching common and hoary redpolls at the feeder, along with white and red breasted nuthatches, a brown creeper, black capped chickadees, downy woodpecker, purple finches and goldfinches - the males are just beginning to assume breeding plumage.

Hello SRE and a warm welcome to you from the staff here at BirdForum.

Have you tried doing a search for the Emerald Hummingbird in our Gallery. If not, you might start there. Enjoy!

Hi SRE and another "Welcome to Birdforum!".

I've no idea about hummingbirds - only seen a few flyby's in Ontario! Try Posting the question in the Bird Identification Forum - use an appropriate Title and someone will be able to help you out.

Good to have you aboard.

Cheers,

Andy.
