Hello birding world,
In this age of identity theft and spamming, I thought about going completely incognito, even on the one net forum where my alter ego would easily be recognized as such. However, I decided to at least own up to the fact that my real name is Erik, and I live in the state of Massachusetts in the USA.
I found both birdforum.net and birdlife.org while searching on the internet for bird conservation sites. While my day job has nothing to do with conservation, I have had a lifelong (30-something years and counting) interest in animals and their preservation. After travelling in Hawai'i and New Zealand in the past several years, I have decided that I want to focus any time I have for learning and action on birds. I'm also incorporating time spent bird watching into both free time around where I live and when I travel (and my wife is being a good sport about it...
).
