I'm really sorry Helen, but the drake Smew is still at Baston & Langtoft Pits this evening.

As the light was fading fast I thought it would be a bit late for you to get up here, so didn't drop you a line.

Far too late, reckon it's a lump of polystyrene floating about (spelt how you want). ;)

I will say nothing and let you look at the attachment

You've got a death wish haven't you?
You'd better PM Helen some (very good quality) chocolate quickly - whilst your soft and squashy bits are still soft and squashy...

What soft and squashy bits?!

Guess What?

Guess what I did today? :eek!:

Here are some clues:

- I left work in a hurry this afternoon after receiving a text message
- I owe Josh a very, very large drink (once he's 18, of course ;) )
- Line 11 on Bird Forum Bingo might become tickable this evening
- Will there be anything left to talk about on this thread?

Back with the answer later.

Helen

You haven't....

.....have you???

But they don't exist you said :-O

Eureka!

Well, yes, I really, finally, at long last, can you believe it, who'd have thought it, will the world now end, did see one.

Josh texted me at work, I made a poor excuse and rushed off to Langtoft, the road was full of lorries cussedly driving at 35mph in every direction. I got there, adrenalin rushing through my veins, little heart pounding. Snuck a bit closer than I should have, set up the scope, found the willow where Josh says it hangs out... Not there!

Sinking feeling, but continued scanning the water and suddenly, there it was, swimming into the field of view, all white and fluffy and pointy-beaked and totally unlke anything else and definitely, absolutely, beyond any possible doubt a:

Has the world ended?

BTW Josh for President, everybody give this boy their lifesavings, girls rush out and kiss him, men prostrate yourself at his feet. I give you, my new favourite teenlister (sorry, Will)......Josh Jones! (And ta v much for letting me use the pic.)
