Hi,

My name is Simon. I'm a relatively new photography enthusiast, and have found a new love for photographing birds, more specifically birds in flight.

I have a Canon 7D along with a 70-200mm F4 L and a recently purchased 400mm F5.6 L which after reading info on here, I decided was a must have!

Other lenses in a shared arsenal are the Sigma 50-500 EX DG, Canon 50mm f1.4, Canon 100-400mm L, Sigma 50mm f2.8 Macro along with a host of accessories given that others in the family are also keen photographers.

Have been photographing birds for about a year, mainly gulls and other lake dwelling varieties. I am also a big fan of setting a tripod up in the garden for hours on end and capturing the smaller garden birds.

Wanted to join a community to hopefully further my knowledge in the subject matter and hopefully meet like minded people with whom I can share knowledge and experience.

Look forward to being an active member on here and pleased to meet you all :)

Simon

Hi Simon and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here. I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about and will hopefully see some of your pictures in the Gallery too.

Thank you both for the warm welcome. I will have to start putting together some of my images for the gallery :)
Have found the advice on here thus far to be extremely good so looking forward to sharing with you all!
