Hi All,
I'm an English ex-pat, living in the US for the past 30+ years. I've lived in Minnesota, West Texas, Arizona and now my home is Madison, Wisconsin. I'm an amateur photographer, including bird and wildlife photography. I am a fan of nature and birdwatching - a form of meditation for me! I found this forum after deciding I needed an optics upgrade. The reviews and personal experiences here with different optics were key in my purchasing decisions. I have been using the same pair of Vortex Diamondback 8x32 binoculars for the last 9 or so years. They have been really great but the chromatic aberration is annoying at longer distances and subjects with any sort of backlighting. I have a new pair of Vortex Razor HD 10x42 binoculars on the way in time for the Spring migration here. I also ordered a (barely) used Nikon Fieldscope EDIII with the 20-60x and 30x eyepieces for pretty cheap. The last of the ice has gone here and the ducks are returning - Coots, Shovelers, Wood Ducks, Gadwalls etc. Between the new optics and help from the game-changing Merlin app, it should be an exciting Spring!
