I wasn’t able to get out last weekend due to a blizzard that dumped about a foot of snow. Since then, it has warmed up (highs in the low 60s Fahrenheit) and the snow has completely gone.

Not having birded in two weeks (other than keeping an eye on my feeders), I was anxious to get out today. Not a bad morning, picking up five new birds for the year.

62. Field Sparrow
63. Rusty Blackbird
64. Sharp-shinned Hawk
65. Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
66. Red-headed Woodpecker

Is Yellow-headed Caracara an exotic in the Miami area, or has a vagrant shown up?
