A very windy and gray day today, only ended up with three new year birds:

66. Lesser Scaup
67. Redhead
68. Cooper's Hawk

Is Yellow-headed Caracara an exotic in the Miami area, or has a vagrant shown up?

They are calling it a vagrant, we've had it around for over a year now, but it was gone for most months until we figured out it's preferred places at sunrise and sunset (we still have no clue where it is in the middle of the day).

Part of why it's being accepted as a vagrant, is because a few months prior, Jamaica also had a first record of the species for a few weeks. So it's likely a ship assisted vagrant that's been surviving for over a year at this point (mostly by taking scraps from the BBQs and the fish cleaning stations).
