Magnification (binoculars) and Optical Power (eyeglasses) (1 Viewer)

Let say I am using eyeglasses having optical power +4.
This corresponds to a magnification of 2x. (I am not sure, but this is secondary)
If I am using a 10x binocular without the eyeglasses, it's like using a 8x binocular (by a person who does not need optical correction).

I am just downgraded the binocular from 10x to 8x. o_O
Is this downgrade a reality?

There is a discussion of the effect in this thread. There are changes to magnification but they are not that great.
