Monarch HG 8x42 vs Venturer HG/LX 8x42 (1 Viewer)

So is the monarch hg as good optically as the older original venturer lx leaded models. I have an old 8x42 HG and the view is great, the main thing that drives me crazy with then is the small apparent FOV. For those that have tried both spear the new 8x42 MHG have the resolution and dof of the older model? And would you gone up an older version for the new MHG. Thanks.

I have had both and although the older Nikon 8x42 HG is an excellent binocular the new Nikon 8x42 MHG is a definite upgrade, especially if you want a bigger AFOV. DOF is determined by magnification only and the aperture or make of binocular has no bearing on it.

hello,
Can you tell me if they differ in image contrast and saturation? also HG LX "made in Japan", but not HG, currently on eBay a used HG LX 8x42 is selling for $580 and a new HG 8x42 for $800, is there a difference in optical quality between them? Is the Japanese made one better?
Thanks

They're both Japanese, I would say the topics on the MHG are better, sharper, less false color, I think the build quality is more robust on the LX but they're quite old by now, 10-15 years old I think?
