Murder in my garden today..... (4 Viewers)

As brutal as it may seem I have to say Sparrow Hawks are impressive when the snatch birds off the feeders - One went for my dog once but unfortunately it didnt take it - have also seen one take birds out of ringing nets!
I also saw a magpie get it comeuppance by a pair of collar doves when it tried to scare them off the feed tray - I have to say for a bird that is suppose to mean peace and love (I am sure someone will correct me on that!) I do not know how the magpie survived!

jenny, its very hard but look at it from a predators point of view. it had to eat something, and i feel sure from the sound of your good nature that you would rather it have been food for the spectacular male sparrowhawk than a damn cat.
